Epidata, pioneer company in Software Architecture, received the International Projection Award as part of the Second Edition of the Young Argentinian Entrepreneur Award The second edition of the Young Argentinian Entrepreneur Award was organized by the Federation of Young Entrepreneurs (FEDAJE) last March 31st.

Epidata became the winner of the International Projection Award, granted to Valerio Adrian Anacleto in his role as director and co-founder of the company.

The event aims to recognize young entrepreneurs who have excelled in the development and projection of their business, for encouraging competitiveness, innovation, wealth creation and employment promotion in our country. This time, it brought together more than 100 young people from across the nation who received honorable mentions in various categories.

Among the judges were the Minister of Economy, Amado Boudou (current Vice President of the Nation); the Minister of Industry, Debora Giorgi and President of the Bank of Investment and Foreign Trade (BICE), Mauro Alem, they recognized the efforts made during 2010 by Epidata in conquering international markets through the export of software development services.

Currently, 25% of the company’s turnover comes from exports and plans to reach 40% by 2015. During the last few years, Epidata had an average steady growth of 60% per year.

Epidata, in 7 years, became from being a project of some young idealists to a company that directly employs over 100 people and plans to employ 500 professionals by 2015. It has had a strong impact in the local industry for being the first company specialized in providing software architecture services in Latin America.

Epidata also participated in some of the software systems that have the most transactions in the country, among which can be found projects of the country’s main telecommunication companies, banks and ATM networks in Argentina such as Telecom, Telecom Personal and Red Link.

In regards to the entrepreneur role in Argentina, Mr. Anacleto stressed the importance of young people in employment generation and as a social engine: “it is essential that young entrepreneurs take part of business’ in Argentina, but it is necessary to create credit lines which enable the country to finance knowledge-based companies and help to get out from the export model and “commodities” and get toward a model of value creation.

He also emphasized on the positive impact that socially responsible entrepreneurship should have in narrowing the social gap.
