The standards ensure the security of the information of Epidata and its clients and the quality of service, respectively, and are granted by the Argentine Institute of Standardization and Certification (IRAM).
Epidata certified to ISO 27001 for the first time and renewed its certification to ISO 9001. Both audits were conducted by the Argentine Institute of Standardization and Certification (IRAM), are endorsed by the Argentine Accreditation Organization (OAA) and issued by IQNet, which guarantees the recognition of certificates at the international level.
The international standard ISO 27001 guarantees guarantees the confidentiality and integrity of the data and information, as well as the systems that process it. To obtain it, organizations must demonstrate that they have outstanding information security management along with other good practices and established controls. Its application means a differentiation from the rest, which improves the competitiveness and image of a company.
According to the last annual survey of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), elaborated with data of 2018, only 48 companies in the country had the ISO 27001 certification. The report added that 6,822 IT companies globally had passed the audit to obtain the standard.
On the other hand, ISO 9001:2015 standardizes the quality control system of organizations. To obtain it, management systems are analyzed under conditions that guarantee compliance with legal requirements, experience and personnel training, among others. The certification has a strong focus on processes and seeks to ensure the satisfaction of all audiences that interact with the company.
”We are happy to have once again renewed the ISO 9001:2015 standard. In the case of ISO 27001 it is the first time we have certified and it is very important for Epidata for many reasons. First, because it ensures that we take care of our information and that of our customers. Second, because very few companies in Latin America have this certification. In general, those who do are multinational service companies with thousands of employees.
Headquartered in Buenos Aires, Epidata has offices around the continent in Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and the United States. With a team of more than 300 employees, it is dedicated to providing software development and design, application modernization, IoT, machine learning, consulting and Big Data services.
