Epidata is a sponsor of the event organized by the Escuela de Ciencias Informáticas(ECI) which has been held annually since 1987 at the Departamento de Computación, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Universidad de Buenos Aires. The event will take place from July 18 to 23 at Pabellón 1, Ciudad Universitaria, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales at UBA.
The ECI 2016 courses will be organized around three thematic areas:
- Databases
- Information Retrieval and Extraction
- Internet/Security
The ECI aims to offer UBA students, students from other institutions, graduates and professionals in the field intensive, high-level specialization and update courses on topics not usually covered in undergraduate programs. The courses are taught by prestigious professors from various institutions, both foreign and domestic, giving participants varied perspectives on the topics covered and the opportunity to build academic cooperation ties, as well as encouraging research and development activities.
Between 350 and 800 people have attended the different editions of the ECI, each taking 2 or 3 courses, including students from universities across Argentina and neighboring countries.
The participation of Epidata in this event is directly related to its interest in promoting initiatives that connect students and young professionals with the industry, thereby contributing to their training and promoting the value of sharing knowledge.
