On Monday 30/08 and 1/09, Epidata took part in the “Trade Mission to La Rioja”organized by the Undersecretariat of Policies in Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of the MINCyT.

Its goal was to encourage software companies to set up operations there by making direct contact with the wide pool of qualified professionals the province has.

La Rioja has 4 universities offering systems-related degree programs, so it has a significant number of graduates. This mission is an interesting opportunity for companies wishing to set up Development or Service Centers, given the availability of qualified resources and the possibility of using infrastructure provided by the provincial government.

Epidata, for its part, is evaluating the possibility of opening an office within a university in La Rioja, as it did at the Universidad de La Matanza.

On Monday, August 31, a formal meeting took place with government and university authorities, led by Governor Luis Beder Herrera, Governor-elect and then Deputy Governor Sergio Casas, and Rector Lic. Fabián Alejandro Calderón (Universidad Nacional de La Rioja). The participants were also introduced, and the day ended with a dinner for the entire delegation.

On Tuesday, September 1, an open working session was held with representatives of educational and scientific institutions, university graduates and businesspeople, which included project demonstrations, exchange of experiences, networking, collection of resumes and a visit to the universities' facilities.
