Dr. Matías Nicoletti, who works as an Architect on various R&D&I projects at Epidata, will participate as a member of the program committee of the Argentine Symposium on Software Engineering (ASSE 2016), held within the framework of the Jornadas Argentinas de Informática (JAIIO), co-organized by SADIO, UNTREF, and UNLP. ASSE is an annual event that brings together researchers, developers, and professionals to discuss and exchange ideas, problems, and experiences in the field of Software Engineering. Generally, ASSE receives original papers in different sub-areas of Software Engineering, ranging from academic research to applications in the productive sector. Some of the topics usually discussed at ASSE include:

  • Agile Methods
  • Cloud Computing
  • Distributed Systems
  • Formal Methods
  • Object-oriented and aspect-oriented paradigms
  • Component-based Software Engineering
  • SOA
  • Mobile development
  • Requirements Engineering
  • Software Architectures
  • Software Configuration Management
  • Software Metrics and QA
  • Software Product Lines
  • Project Management
  • Development tools and environments
  • Development frameworks

As a committee member, Matías Nicoletti will help organize the event and review the various papers submitted to the symposium for evaluation. Each paper is generally subjected to a peer review process involving at least 3 committee members, where each member states the strengths, weaknesses, and the decision to accept or reject the paper. Based on the committee's opinion, the best papers are selected for inclusion in the Symposium Proceedings. Additionally, the authors of these papers are invited to give a 20-30 minute oral presentation at the physical conference venue, which in this case will be held at UNTREF in September 2016. For papers that are rejected, the authors receive feedback from the committee so they can improve their work/research.
